EC via my Create 365 planner

So I am sorry it has taken so long for this.

This top picture is of the daily sheets:
Top planner is the EC (Erin Condren) I have and the bottom is of the Create 365 I found at Hobby Lobby.

As you might know Erin Condren planners are a bit pricey for some.  Running approx $50
The Create 365 retails for $24.99 and when you use the 40% off coupon you can get online and take with you.  It equals a great deal !

I love that the Create 365 is not spiral bound - it use the ARC disc system that you can find at Staples.  So I got some ARC accessories that fit great in my new Create 365.

The ARC system allows you to add and take stuff out all the time without having to do the hole punch and cut technique that you need for EC.  I like to add and remove stuff as I see fit. And I get board so I can still change the cover because Create 365 has several choices. Not                                                   custom but still real cute.

Here is the monthly view and you can see they look pretty much the same.

The Create 365 is a touch bigger but not much.

Any questions let me know in the comment section. I would be happy to answer them.

I was not given any of the products reviewed.  They were purchased by me personally.

Camper Canopy

Well our canopy/awning needed to be replaced.  It was faded and peeling really bad toward the camper.  (I should've taken a before picture)  Then last time we camped and it rained we had water between the two layers of the canopy.

So I ordered a new one and we installed today at the camp ground.  It wasn't as bad as we thought. It only took about 2.5 hours.  And part of that was talking through what we were planning.

Do make sure you have extra hands.  I would not of gotten this done alone.

I purchased the canopy on Amazon with free shipping for the low price of $180.  And the same awning at Camping World was $450.

I love it and it looks so nice - now to keep it that way.

NEW PLANNER ! I know, I know !

OMG well as you know I ARC'd my Erin Condren planner because I love the system so much.
I stopped at Hobby Lobby and look what I found.
Create 365 - The Happy Planner
It has the ARC disc system that lets you add and take out pages as you wish.
It has the same things EC planner has and a lot less money!
The is product is new and doesn't have as many covers to pick from but they do have some fun cute covers.  I need to get the other pack of them.
Then planner itself is a little taller then the EC planner and the same width.  18 month starting July 2016  but you can get an extension pack that lets you had a few months.
Regular Cost is $24.99  (use the 40% coupon found online)

The month lay out is nice and clean.

The daily layout is vertical with the(morning, day, night)
I again covered those with washi tape to make it my own.

They have some really cute accessories that are a lot cheaper then EC.

More to come on this planner!  I am working on putting it together.  I should get my new EC planner today.

I know they carry them at Hobby Lobby but someone said they had them at Michael's too.
Oh and some HACKS are coming to this!  Stay tuned!

Planner Cover and Pencil/Pen Pouch

I wanted a cover for my planner to keep it nice but I wasn't willing to spend the money for one on the site.  So I thought I could make one.  I had some thick fabric, thin batting, and a blend fabric for the liner.  I had to get a couple zippers, but found them at Joann's for $2 each.

The planner pouch is about 10 x 12 "when finished which leave nice room for getting the planner in and out.

Then I made this pencil/pen pouch to match.  It is approx 6 x 9 in when finished.
Hold all my colored pens and some other things I need for my planner.

New DIY cover for my Erin Condren planner!

My DIY planner cover - this is one of my favorite sayings.
I love these colors!
I used card stock to print it out and there is patterned paper on the backside.
Then I laminated it and punched holes.

I am loving the whole idea of making my own planner to fit my needs and wants!

Dashboard for my Erin Condren Planner

I wanted to create a dashboard for my planner and use it as a place marker too.
I took a file folder and cut it down to size, laminated it, and punched disc holes in it.
I used the fold line to make it fold over.  I placed it in the planner just before the next month and the front section goes into this week.

I placed the color code chart on the front bottom corner.
I have the sticky notes there.
And a clip to place my receipts for the week.

Then when you open it I have place the week night plan for meals.
I used my Cricut to cut out the lettering.
I have our favorite dishes on the sticky notes to the left and can place them in the night as we go.  I sit down to plan out dinner each Sunday night.
Weekends are easier for me as we are usually camping - at least right now.  I might make one with the weekends in coming months.

Ok so I hacked my Erin Condren planner !

Well I couldn't leave it be !!  I had to hack my Erin Condren planner. :)

I have used the ARC system from staples for a couple years now and loved it.  I love that you can take pages in and out and move stuff around .  But it wasn't very colorful.  Which is why I got the EC planner.

Here is my current ARC system planner:  (large 9x11)

How to get the EC planner into something like this?

First I had to get the coil binding off - without having to rip every page out.  So I snipped the ends of the coil and just un-coiled it.
Then I had to cut just the edge off so I didn't take to much off but enough to punch for the ARC system.

You will need a set of discs and a disc hole punch like the one shown here.

After all the sheets were trimmed and punched it was time to put it together.  And it worked !

I am so excited to have the best of both in my very own planner.  I have more tips and tricks up my sleeve so stay tuned for more on this planner and my ideas and thoughts.

I was not paid to use or given any of the above products.  Everything was purchased by me.

My new Erin Condren Planner

This is not a hack or redo but I wanted to share my new planner.  Alot of people ask me how I keep so organized.  I have used several planners over the years and I have heard alot about the Erin Condren planners so with the discount of the year being half over and a coupon I was able to get it at a good price.  I guess they are normally pretty pricey.

Well it came in the mail yesterday.

I ordered some thin washi tape to use in it.  And some Sharpie Markers.  I found out the markers did not stay on the washi tape.  It started coming off.

I picked a color for each person or business task.  And placed them in the days.  Then used a regular pen to write on the washi tape.

I have some favorite pens I use.  Pilot Erasable - they come in several colors which I love.  And being a erasable is great because things change.

Then I played with the day to day lay out.  I really didn't care for the Morning, Day, Night break down so I taped over that and made my own sections.  Apt/Events,  Business Tasks,  To Do

I will give this planner a try and see how things work for me.  I will let you know as time goes on.  I have used the Disc Planner for a long time now.  But these are really cute.

Just to clarify I was not given any of these products to use.  And I am not getting paid to review them.
If you would like to try the Erin Condren Planner feel free to use this link to do so.

Tiles and Wood Plates

Simply great - I used Velvet Finish Paint from The Wild Dandelion Store here in town.  Such a great paint.  Really goes on nice and covers well.

I love to go to the Habitat Restore and get different stuff.  I never know what I might do with it until I get home and look around.

I plan to hang these in my camper.  The colors really go well with the duet cover I have in there.

Hand Made Craft Table

I have always wanted a craft table!  And the pre-made ones are a little pricey for me.

So we had a dining room table that didn't have any chairs to match.  I sanded and primed the top.

I purchased two of the 9 square storage boxes on sale.  And the folding totes too.  I wanted to do a red, white, black theme as we are Badger fans.  :)

Once the table was painted - it took several coats to cover it well.  I used a poly to protect the top.

With the 9 square cube storage under it, it makes it waist high. Perfect for cutting material , laying out activities, or just playing around.

I love it !  It turned out so great.

By the way we left the leaf out but did paint it and it is ready if we need more space for the big projects.

Let me know your thoughts!

you can see where the leg was but that didn't bother me any.  you could easily cover it with a piece of wood.

Thought I would put together a video to show all the updates I have done to the camper.
It really turned out nice.
Let me know what you think!

Side table for in my office.  Old end table that looked it.  :)  Nice black coverage with some teal accent in the drawers.  It looks really nice by my reading chair.

Camper Backsplash

Border was removed with ease.  And I used " Goo Gone" to remove the sticky stuff from the wall.

Then I used sticky stainless steel tiles from Menard's on the wall.  Cut with a jig saw to size when needed.
It looks so nice.
The white spice rack is from Ikea and the spice jars also.
I painted the spice rack white.

I was not paid to use or given any of these products.

Camper Frig Makeover

You have to love this!  All the other appliances in the camper were stainless steal.  So I needed the frig to be also.  I used this great contact paper and made the frig look stainless steal.  It turned out so good.  My friend thought I got a new frig.

Clean the area well - make sure you have an extra set of hands.  You will need a scraper of some sort to push the contact paper down while the other person pulls the backing off as you go.  It was not that hard.

My very first hack!

This was my first real hack.  We started with a pop up camper and it was so ugly.  I made new curtains and valance.  Recovered the cushions.  It made it look so much better.  And I loved the colors.  Easy to do when you use the old strips to hang the curtains.
Purchased decor fabric from Joann Fabrics.

Bathroom Redo

This was so much fun.  I painted two walls and left the one and the door.  It really makes it seem like a "real" bathroom.  Now to re-chalk everything to make sure it is sealed up nice.
I plan to add some sort of storage on the wall yet but need to find something just right.

Dining Area Redo up to now!

Besides the ugly boarder, which will be coming down, this is what I have done so far.

I took the soft cushions and place a long thin piece of MDF on the back.  Then stapled the new fabric around the cushion like wrapping a present.  No sewing involed.  SUPER EASY!

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

I found this old gun cabinet on the side of the road.  I thought it could be something.  I removed and tossed the door and drawer.  I painted it with white paint.  Took three coats!  I built in two extra shelves and then added baskets.
It is a nice piece in my office.
This old china hutch needed to be updated.  I clean everything out and removed the doors.  It took two coats of black paint.  I left the two middle doors off and added a wine rack.  It really makes the china stand out now.
